Pool Float Pet Portrait — Black & White Noir — Pulp Noir
Sunshine color against black-and-white water, all attitude.
About Pool Float Pet Portrait — Black & White Noir
Funny custom pet portrait from your photo: your dog or cat on a pool float, as a black & white noir art piece. This pulp noir pool float pet portrait is the most graphic take on the scene. Your pet lounges across an inflatable ring, front paws hanging over the edge and face dry, but the relaxed vacation mood is recast in hard contrast: the pool water becomes a bold, rippling pattern of black and white, and the ring glows in one flat color, bright yellow in our example.
Next to the warm, painterly Impasto float, this version reads almost like a screen print. The fur is modeled in hatched ink with bright cream highlights, and the expression carries all the attitude of a pulp-magazine star taking a day off. Our AI draws it from your photos, and it looks great in a modern bathroom, a game room or a home bar.

Questions, answered
Do I pay anything before I see my piece?
No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.
How is my piece made?
With AI. Image models create new artwork from your photos and details, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.
How long does it take?
Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.
What if it isn't quite right?
Change the style, a photo or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.
What happens to my photos?
We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.
What sizes and formats can I order?
Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.
How long does printing take?
Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.
How is this different from the Impasto pool float portrait?
The pose and scene are the same, but the mood is not. Impasto is warm and painterly, with turquoise water in thick strokes and sunlight on the fur. Pulp Noir strips the color back to black, white and one flat color for the ring, with rippling water turned into a graphic pattern, so it feels bolder and more like a poster.
Does the high contrast lose my pet's markings?
It shouldn't. Pulp Noir keeps your pet's pattern of light and dark from your photos, so patches, masks and brindle stripes still show, drawn with ink hatching instead of color. Very subtle color differences, such as fawn against cream, read as tone rather than hue. A daylight face photo gives the clearest markings.
What kind of photo works best?
A sharp, well-lit photo where the face fills the frame and both eyes are visible. Daylight beats flash; eye level beats looking down. One good photo is enough — two or three from different angles help.
Can you put more than one pet in the same portrait?
Yes — add a card for each pet, up to five, with their own photos. They do not need to have been photographed together: each animal comes from its own pictures and we compose them into one portrait.
Will it look like my pet, or like a generic dog in that style?
Like yours. The style sets the medium and the mood; the face, markings and expression come from your photos. If a detail is off, add a clearer photo or a note and try again — it's free, and nothing is printed until you order.
I'd like a portrait of a pet who has passed away. Do old photos work?
They do. Scanned prints and older phone photos are fine as long as the face is visible.
What occasions is a custom pet portrait for?
Birthdays, gotcha-day anniversaries, a new puppy or kitten, a gift for the pet parent who has everything — and memorials for a pet who is no longer here. A custom pet portrait is what people give when flowers feel too small.
How much does it cost?
Seeing your piece is free — you only pay if you order a print. Prints start at NZ$69.00, and the exact price of each size and finish is shown on this page.
