About Impressionist Family Portrait

Impressionist gives your family the look of a textured oil painting: visible brushwork, a tactile-looking surface and a warm palette of earth tones, creams and soft blues. Faces are modeled with gentle light and shadow rather than hard outlines, while clothes and background dissolve into looser strokes, as in a traditional painted portrait.

It is made with AI from photos of each person and pet, and aims to keep faces close to your pictures. It is the most classic of the four impasto-style family portraits: calmer than the jewel tones and palette-knife slabs of Prismatic Impasto, and more natural than the coral swirls of Rhythmic Impasto. It suits a living or dining room and a gift for parents or grandparents.

Does the Impressionist style keep faces recognizable?

It aims to. This style keeps faces closer to the photos than the illustrated styles do, using soft light and shadow instead of outlines, and saves the loosest brushwork for clothes and background. Likeness depends on the photos you add, so use clear, well-lit pictures, and try another photo for free if someone looks off.

Will an Impressionist family portrait look like a real oil painting?

It shows the texture and brushwork of oil paint, but it is a print, so the surface itself is flat. On canvas it has the weave and depth of a painting; framed paper gives a crisper, gallery-print look. You choose the format after you have seen your family portrait on the page.

Do the photos need to be taken together?
