About Gouache Storybook Family Portrait

Gouache Storybook gives your family the soft, matte look of gouache, the chalky, opaque paint used in many children's picture books. Colors are gentle pastels, with pale pinks and blues washed behind the group, warm rounded light on faces and simple, softly textured clothes. Edges stay soft and brushmarks remain visible, so the portrait feels cozy rather than sharp.

The portrait is made with AI from the photos you add and aims to keep each face recognizable, softened slightly in a way that is kind to little ones and grandparents alike. It is quieter than Folk Storybook, which uses blocky figures, hatching and a flat teal ground. It suits a nursery or a child's room, a new baby in the family, or a Mother's Day gift.

What happens to my photos?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

How long does printing take?

Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.

Is Gouache Storybook a good choice for a nursery?

How many people can be in the portrait?

Up to the card limit on the form — enough for a large family including pets. The form shows how many people and pets fit in one portrait.

Can I include someone who has passed away?

Yes, from older photos — many families make one for exactly this reason. A clear view of the face is what matters, not the age of the photo.

Will the faces actually look like us?

The style sets the medium; the likeness comes from your photos. If someone is not quite right, add a clearer photo of them and try again — it's free, and nothing is printed until you order.
