About Mid-Century Folk Pet Portrait

Custom pet portrait from your photo: your dog or cat as a mid-century folk art piece. Biomorphic Folk sets your pet against a patchwork of soft, rounded shapes and small painted circles in burnt orange, teal, mustard, plum and deep green. The ground has a dry-brushed, faintly scratched texture, as if the paint had weathered on old board, with thin dark line accents and bits of stitched or striped folk pattern tucked into the blocks.

The animal stays characterful and usually more detailed than the shapes around it, so a tuxedo bib or tabby stripes stand out; the palette goes into the background, not onto the coat. Compared with the pastel Meadow Folk, this biomorphic folk pet portrait is earthier and more retro. Our AI makes it from your photos, and it suits rooms with teak, rust and olive tones.

How it works

  1. Choose your styles

Pick the looks you want to see and, where it matters, the pose.

  2. Add your pets

A card for each pet, with one to three clear photos; a well-lit face with visible eyes matters most.

  3. See your portraits

They appear on this page within a couple of minutes; choose the size, paper or canvas, and frame.

  4. Only pay if you fall for one

No deposit, no obligation — if none of the designs feels right, you owe nothing.

  5. We print and ship

We start printing as soon as you order. Making it takes 2–5 business days, then it ships from the print partner nearest you.

Questions, answered

Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from your photos and details, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style, a photo or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What happens to my photos?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

Which photos work best for a Biomorphic Folk cat portrait?

A close photo of the face and chest with good light on the eyes. The busy, colorful ground leaves the animal as the calm center of the piece, so clear markings and an alert expression help it hold its own. Cats photographed from well above can look distorted; a photo taken at their height gives a truer head shape.

How is Biomorphic Folk different from Meadow Folk?

Both are folk-inspired, but the palettes point in opposite directions. Biomorphic Folk uses earthy mid-century colors and a weathered, scratched texture. Meadow Folk is soft and pastel, with periwinkle or blush grounds covered in tiny speckles and flower motifs. For a warm retro room choose Biomorphic Folk; for a lighter, gentler feel, Meadow Folk.

Is Biomorphic Folk only for cats?

No. The examples on this page show cats, but the portrait is made from whichever pet you add, and dogs and other companions go through the same process. Up to five pets can share one piece, each from their own photos. The patterned ground arranges itself around the animals whatever their size.

What kind of photo works best?

A sharp, well-lit photo where the face fills the frame and both eyes are visible. Daylight beats flash; eye level beats looking down. One good photo is enough — two or three from different angles help.

Can you put more than one pet in the same portrait?

Yes — add a card for each pet, up to five, with their own photos. They do not need to have been photographed together: each animal comes from its own pictures and we compose them into one portrait.

Will it look like my pet, or like a generic dog in that style?

Like yours. The style sets the medium and the mood; the face, markings and expression come from your photos. If a detail is off, add a clearer photo or a note and try again — it's free, and nothing is printed until you order.

I'd like a portrait of a pet who has passed away. Do old photos work?

They do. Scanned prints and older phone photos are fine as long as the face is visible.

What occasions is a custom pet portrait for?

Birthdays, gotcha-day anniversaries, a new puppy or kitten, a gift for the pet parent who has everything — and memorials for a pet who is no longer here. A custom pet portrait is what people give when flowers feel too small.

How much does it cost?
