About Generational Family Portrait

Some portraits are about one moment; this one is about a line. Three or four generations stand shoulder to shoulder in order of age, from the great-grandparent or grandparent to the youngest, framed head and shoulders against plain warm white. Everyone wears a simple cream, ivory or oatmeal top, each person rests a hand on the next one's shoulder, and a small child is held at shoulder height so even the youngest face sits in the line.

It is made with AI from a few photos of each person. The plain clothes and close framing put all the attention on the faces, where a family resemblance is easiest to see across the years. It is a Mother's Day or Father's Day present that grows more precious with time.

Prices start at $56.00: Canvas from $56.00 (12″×16″), Framed Poster from $70.00 (12″×16″), and Metal Print from $92.00 (11″×14″).

How it works

  2. Add your people

A card for each person or pet, with one to three clear photos of their face.

  3. See your portraits

  4. Only pay if you fall for one

No deposit, no obligation — if none of the designs feels right, you owe nothing.

We start printing as soon as you order. Making it takes 2–5 business days, then it ships from the print partner nearest you.

Questions, answered

Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from your photos and details, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style, a photo or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What if my print arrives damaged or misprinted?

Tell us within 14 days of delivery, with your order number and a photo, and we'll reprint it or refund you, whichever you prefer. You don't need to send it back. You approve the exact design before you order, so a print that doesn't match it counts as a misprint. Because each piece is made to order, we can't take it back if you change your mind.

What happens to my photos?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

How long does printing take?

Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.

Why is the limit five people?

Each generation gets its place in the line, framed head and shoulders, and faces need room to stay recognizable. Three to five people gives every face its full size: a grandmother, mother and daughter, or four generations with one extra. For a bigger gathering, the grandparents and grandkids portrait seats up to six.

Who stands where?

The line runs from the eldest on one side to the youngest on the other, the order most families expect, each person's hand on the next one's shoulder. If you want a different order, describe it in the notes box and we pass that request on with your photos, along with anything else worth knowing.

Can the photos come from different places and years?

Yes. Everyone is added from their own pictures, so photos taken years apart or in different homes work fine. Use one to three clear, front-facing photos of each person, ideally recent ones. For the eldest, a sharp, well-lit picture of the face matters more than anything else.

Is it made with AI, and is the preview free?

Yes to both. The portrait is generated with AI from your photos and shown to you as a free preview, no card needed. Nobody pays until they order a print, and the print is made to order on paper, canvas or metal in the size you pick.

Do the photos need to be taken together?

No — that is the point. Each person comes from their own photos and we compose them into one scene. Different years, places and lighting all work.

How many people can be in the portrait?

Up to the card limit on the form — enough for a large family including pets. The form shows how many people and pets fit in one portrait.

Can our dog be in the family portrait?

Yes. Add your dog — or your cat — as a card of its own, with one to three clear photos of its face, and it appears in the portrait beside everyone else, in the same style. A pet takes a card just like a person, so it counts toward the same limit.

Can I include someone who has passed away?

Yes, from older photos — many families make one for exactly this reason. A clear view of the face is what matters, not the age of the photo.

Will the faces actually look like us?

The style sets the medium; the likeness comes from your photos. If someone is not quite right, add a clearer photo of them and try again — it's free, and nothing is printed until you order.

What occasions is a custom family portrait for?

The moments a family changes shape: a new baby, a wedding, an anniversary, grandparents far away — or simply finally getting everyone, dog included, into one frame.
