About Gilded Wash Star Map

Gilded Wash styles your star chart as a watercolor night sky: deep navy at the top bleeding into teal and petrol green, with soft granulating washes and a fine spatter of pale stars. Over the wash, the constellation lines and their stars are picked out in a warm gold tone, printed as color rather than foil.

The sky is computed for your date, place and time from a star catalog, and AI then applies the wash. The round chart sits on a paper-white mat with your names, caption, place and date set in real type beneath it. Next to Stone, a flat navy disc with white stars, Gilded Wash is softer and warmer, suited to a wedding night or an anniversary.

What happens to the details I enter?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Details you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

How long does printing take?

Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.

Is the gold on a Gilded Wash star map metallic foil?

No. The constellation lines are a warm gold color printed as ink, with no foil or gold leaf, so they do not glint the way foil would. Against the navy and teal wash they still read clearly as gold. The effect is the same whichever format you choose, from framed paper to canvas.

How does Gilded Wash differ from the Watercolor Nebula style?

Watercolor Nebula is a soft watercolor-style sky in indigo, violet and teal with no gold. Gilded Wash keeps the watercolor wash, shifts it toward navy, teal and petrol green, and adds gold-toned constellation lines on top. Choose Gilded Wash for color with a little warmth in the lines, and Nebula for a softer, dreamier sky.

Is the star map astronomically accurate?

Yes. The chart is computed for your exact date, place and time from a star catalogue — the same stars, constellations and visible planets that stood above that spot that night. A real sky, not a decorative pattern.

What if I don't know the exact time?

Leave it blank and we map a late-evening sky for that date, which is what most people picture. If the moment had a time — a birth, a ceremony — add it and the chart follows.

Can I change the caption or the style after I see my star map?
