About Vintage Stork Nursery Name Art

Engraved Stork looks like a plate torn from an antique natural-history book: fine black linework, careful cross-hatching and soft washes of color on warm ivory. The bird stands on one leg in a small navy postman's cap with a knotted linen bundle hanging from its beak, and the name is inscribed on the lower part of that bundle in fine copperplate script.

The drawing is fixed; only the lettered patch is made for your order, kept clear of the beak, placed back into the original and read against your spelling before you ever see it. Stork Post runs the same errand in loose modern watercolor. A tall 2:3 with a 4:5 alternative, at home in thin black or gilt.

Prices start at NZ$75.00: Canvas from NZ$75.00 (8″×12″) and Framed Poster from NZ$110.00 (12″×18″).

How it works

  1. Inscribe the name

Enter it as you would write it; the copperplate follows your capitals.

  2. Date the plate

Optionally add a full name, the birth date and time, and the weight.

  3. See your piece

It appears right here within a couple of minutes. Pick the size, paper or canvas, and frame — or change something and try again.

  4. Only pay if you fall for one

No deposit, no obligation — if none of the designs feels right, you owe nothing.

  5. We print and ship

We start printing as soon as you order. Making it takes 2–5 business days, then it ships from the print partner nearest you.

Questions, answered

Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from the details you add, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What happens to the details I enter?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Details you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

How long does printing take?

Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.

Is this a real engraving?

It is a modern archival print made in the spirit of one. The illustration was drawn to look like a hand-colored plate from an old natural-history book, approved once, and every order starts from that same drawing.

How is the name written on the bundle?

In fine black copperplate script, lettered onto the lower part of the bundle only. We keep the stork's head and beak outside that area, place the lettered patch back into the original drawing, and read the name back before you ever see it.

What can the name contain?

Between one and sixteen characters with your capitalization, hyphens and apostrophes, and no spaces. Accented letters like é, ë and ö are supported; the form tells you at once if a character can't be inscribed.

What do the caption lines look like?

A deep sepia serif across the open ivory at the top of the sheet, in keeping with the old-plate feel. There are three optional lines, all starting empty: a full name, the date with the time of birth, and the weight.

Which shape should I pick?

The main composition is a tall 2:3; there is also a 4:5. Both look especially fine in a thin black, gilt or walnut frame.

Does it suit a modern room?

It does, by contrast. A quiet heirloom piece beside clean modern furniture feels considered, and it makes a thoughtful gift for grandparents who love old prints.

Will the name be spelled exactly right?

Yes. On every style the name is either set in real type or checked letter by letter before the design reaches you, and nothing is printed until you have seen it. If a style cannot draw a character, the form tells you before you start.

Why is there a length limit on the name?

Each scene holds the name its own way — a balloon per letter, a board on the side of a bus, letters the animals lean on — so each style has room for a certain number of letters. If a name is too long for one style, another usually fits it.

Can I add the birth date, time and weight?

Yes, all three are optional. They are set in small type beneath the art, and on most styles you can move or resize each line on the preview. The weight can be in kilograms or in pounds and ounces.

Can I order before the baby arrives?

Yes. Leave the birth details blank and the print carries the name alone — a baby-shower gift that still works once the baby is home.

What occasions is nursery name art for?

Decorating a new baby's room, a baby shower or naming-day gift, a first birthday, or a keepsake for grandparents. The name is the whole idea, so the piece still belongs on the wall long after the nursery becomes a bedroom.
