About Retro Bus Nursery Name Art

Screenprint Bus is a mid-century travel poster with a name on it. A red double-decker climbs past mustard and teal townhouses in four flat inks, with a little grain and a deliberate slip of misregistration at the edges, while a fox, a bear, a penguin and a lion ride the open top deck. The cream band between the decks carries the name.

Nothing is regenerated for your order: the name is set in type on a finished illustration, and the band was measured so twelve capitals still print comfortably on the smallest size we sell. Safari Bus takes the same bus into watercolor and the savanna. A tall 2:3, at home in bold graphic frames in black, white or oak.

Prices start at NZ$75.00: Canvas from NZ$75.00 (8″×12″) and Framed Poster from NZ$110.00 (12″×18″).

How it works

  1. Set the sign

Type the name; it is placed on the band between the decks as you go.

  2. Optional small print

Full name, date and weight can go underneath in a crisp sans serif.

  3. See your piece

It appears right here within a couple of minutes. Pick the size, paper or canvas, and frame — or change something and try again.

  4. Only pay if you fall for one

No deposit, no obligation — if none of the designs feels right, you owe nothing.

  5. We print and ship

We start printing as soon as you order. Making it takes 2–5 business days, then it ships from the print partner nearest you.

Questions, answered

Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from the details you add, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What happens to the details I enter?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Details you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

How long does printing take?

Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.

Does the grainy print texture affect the name?

The name is set in a rounded display face on the finished screenprint and picks up a subtle ink texture so it doesn't look pasted on. It remains exact type, so the lettering on screen is the lettering on paper.

How many letters fit between the decks?

A maximum of twelve characters in capitals, including one space, hyphen or apostrophe. We checked that the longest names still print at a readable height on every size we sell.

Can I leave the caption off?

Yes, and it starts that way. The street band can stay bare, or carry the full name, the birthday with its time, and the weight. Those lines are set in a crisp sans serif that matches the graphic mood, and each one can be resized or moved on the preview.

Is this the same scene as Safari Bus?

It is a sibling with a very different look: a city street instead of a savanna, flat graphic inks instead of watercolor, and cheeky stylized animals instead of soft baby ones. Lollipop trees and a big coral sun complete the skyline.

What proportion is it?

A tall 2:3 portrait, which leaves a generous sky above the bus and suits bold graphic frames in black, white or natural oak.

Will the name be spelled exactly right?

Yes. On every style the name is either set in real type or checked letter by letter before the design reaches you, and nothing is printed until you have seen it. If a style cannot draw a character, the form tells you before you start.

Why is there a length limit on the name?

Each scene holds the name its own way — a balloon per letter, a board on the side of a bus, letters the animals lean on — so each style has room for a certain number of letters. If a name is too long for one style, another usually fits it.

Can I add the birth date, time and weight?

Yes, all three are optional. They are set in small type beneath the art, and on most styles you can move or resize each line on the preview. The weight can be in kilograms or in pounds and ounces.

Can I order before the baby arrives?

Yes. Leave the birth details blank and the print carries the name alone — a baby-shower gift that still works once the baby is home.

What occasions is nursery name art for?

Decorating a new baby's room, a baby shower or naming-day gift, a first birthday, or a keepsake for grandparents. The name is the whole idea, so the piece still belongs on the wall long after the nursery becomes a bedroom.
