It is drawn stitch by stitch as artwork: each mark is a small X of thread lying on the weave of the linen, worked in madder red with a darker outline around it. The print reproduces that surface; it is not a photograph of a finished sampler.

Every letter from A to Z, plus the accented capitals É, Ä, Ö and Ü. Each one was worked separately, so the stitch count and the weight of the letter stay consistent whichever you choose, and the border is identical behind all of them.

One to sixteen characters, exactly as you type them, with one space and hyphens or apostrophes allowed. Below the letter the name is written in a flowing script, and a long one is scaled down to sit inside the border rather than crowding it.

A few small gold stars and one crescent moon, with the border carrying trailing vines, leaves and tiny strawberries all the way round at the same scale. Nothing is stitched in the lower third, which is where your words go.

Up to four lines: the name in script, the full name, the date of birth with the time beside it, and the weight. Each can be moved, resized or left off, and all of them sit on the plain linen inside the border.

Portrait, at 4:5. The border is drawn to one width on every side, so the proportions of the linen matter more here than on the painted styles and only the one shape is offered.

Yes. On every style the name is either set in real type or checked letter by letter before the design reaches you, and nothing is printed until you have seen it. If a style cannot draw a character, the form tells you before you start.

Each scene holds the name its own way — a balloon per letter, a board on the side of a bus, letters the animals lean on — so each style has room for a certain number of letters. If a name is too long for one style, another usually fits it.

Yes, all three are optional. They are set in small type beneath the art, and on most styles you can move or resize each line on the preview. The weight can be in kilograms or in pounds and ounces.

Yes. Leave the birth details blank and the print carries the name alone — a baby-shower gift that still works once the baby is home.
