Questions, answered

Is everything painted in blue?

Yes. The whole portrait is one pigment, cobalt and ultramarine blue on white. Lighter skin and fair hair are shown with pale washes and darker skin and hair with deeper blue, so each person keeps their own look. Clothes become broad blue brushstrokes, and the background stays white.

Will the hands of the clock cover the faces?

We place everyone so their faces stay clear of the center of the dial, where the hands are fixed. The hands still pass over the picture as they turn, and the printed names sit in the lower part of the round window, below the faces. Check the finished preview before ordering.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from your photos and details, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

What happens to my photos?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

Can I use separate photographs?

Yes. Add a photo of each person or one group photograph, then confirm who is who. The full lower portrait takes one to four people or pets; anniversary clocks take exactly two.

Does the date freeze the clock at that moment?

No. The date is printed on the face. The moving hands continue to tell the current time.

Can the hands cover part of the portrait?

The hands move across the face and may briefly pass over portraits or words. Check the finished clock preview before ordering.

More questions (5)
Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style, a photo or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What if my print arrives damaged or misprinted?

Tell us within 14 days of delivery, with your order number and a photo, and we'll reprint it or refund you, whichever you prefer. You don't need to send it back. You approve the exact design before you order, so a print that doesn't match it counts as a misprint. Because each piece is made to order, we can't take it back if you change your mind.

How much does it cost?

Seeing your piece is free — you only pay if you order a print. Prints start at NZ$138.00, and the exact price of each size and finish is shown on this page.

About Blue Brushstroke Family Clock

This page makes a blue brushstroke family clock from your photos: a one-color portrait in thick, wet cobalt and ultramarine paint on white, with ridges, drips and dry-brush edges. Faces are a few confident strokes, and the depth of blue follows each person's own skin tone and hair color, so everyone stays recognizable in a single pigment.

The portrait fills a round window in the middle of the dial, ringed by all twelve hours on cream paper. Add one group photo or a photo of each person, one to four in all, pets included. The artwork is made with AI and shown as a free preview, with your names in real type if you like. The clock is 10 inches (25.4 cm) across, with a black, white or wood base.
