About Victorian Family Portrait

This is the careful, upright family portrait of the 1890s. The eldest sit on a carved velvet settee in a wood-paneled parlor papered in deep red and gold, a tall potted palm on one side and a fringed velvet drape on the other, while everyone else stands close behind them, one hand resting on a shoulder. Gowns come in plum, bottle green or dusty rose with lace at the throat and a cameo brooch; suits in charcoal, brown or navy with patterned waistcoats and watch chains.

It is made with AI from a few photos of each person, keeping every face, hairstyle and pair of glasses. Two to six people fit, for a couple's anniversary, a grandparents' Christmas or a new family of three.

Prices start at £56.00: Canvas from £56.00 (12″×16″) and Framed Poster from £62.00 (12″×16″).

Questions, answered

Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from your photos and details, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style, a photo or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What if my print arrives damaged or misprinted?

Tell us within 14 days of delivery, with your order number and a photo, and we'll reprint it or refund you, whichever you prefer. You don't need to send it back. You approve the exact design before you order, so a print that doesn't match it counts as a misprint. Because each piece is made to order, we can't take it back if you change your mind.

What happens to my photos?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

How long does printing take?

Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.

Why does it need at least two people?

The parlor sitting is built around a pair: someone seated and someone standing with a hand on their shoulder. That pose needs two people at least and holds up to six, pets included. For a single sitter in period dress, the Renaissance family portrait page seats one person on their own.

Will the period clothes suit everyone?

Clothes follow what each person wears in their photos, so a dress, a suit, a waistcoat or a high-collared blouse comes from the person rather than from a guess. Fabrics are rich and deep in tone, never solid black, and children wear sailor suits or white pinafores over colored dresses.

What should we upload?

One to three clear, front-facing photos of each person, in good light, or a group photo with every face visible. Hair, beards and glasses come from those photos, so keep them as you want them shown. Photos taken in different places and years work fine, because each person is added from their own pictures.

Do we pay before seeing it?

No. The portrait is made with AI and shown to you as a free preview; there is no card to enter. You pay only for a print you want to keep, on paper, canvas or metal, with or without a frame, in the size that suits your wall.

Do the photos need to be taken together?

No — that is the point. Each person comes from their own photos and we compose them into one scene. Different years, places and lighting all work.

How many people can be in the portrait?

Up to the card limit on the form — enough for a large family including pets. The form shows how many people and pets fit in one portrait.

Can our dog be in the family portrait?

Yes. Add your dog — or your cat — as a card of its own, with one to three clear photos of its face, and it appears in the portrait beside everyone else, in the same style. A pet takes a card just like a person, so it counts toward the same limit.

Can I include someone who has passed away?

Yes, from older photos — many families make one for exactly this reason. A clear view of the face is what matters, not the age of the photo.

Will the faces actually look like us?

The style sets the medium; the likeness comes from your photos. If someone is not quite right, add a clearer photo of them and try again — it's free, and nothing is printed until you order.

What occasions is a custom family portrait for?

The moments a family changes shape: a new baby, a wedding, an anniversary, grandparents far away — or simply finally getting everyone, dog included, into one frame.
