About Prismatic Impasto Family Portrait

Prismatic Impasto renders your family with thick, structured palette-knife strokes, each one a small flat slab of color. The palette is cool and jewel-toned, in lilac, teal, cobalt and sea green, with touches of warm ochre on skin and wood. Strokes change direction across faces, clothes and background, which gives the surface a faceted, shimmering play of light.

It is made with AI from your photos and aims to keep each face recognizable under the texture. Compared with Impressionist, the marks are bolder and the color less natural; compared with Rhythmic Impasto, the strokes are straight and blocky rather than swirling. It suits a contemporary living room with blue or green accents, and a family that prefers colorful art to traditional portraits.

How it works

  1. Choose your styles

Pick the looks you want to see.

  2. Add your people

A card for each person or pet, with one to three clear photos of their face.

  3. See your portraits

They appear on this page within a couple of minutes; choose the size, paper or canvas, and frame.

  4. Only pay if you fall for one

No deposit, no obligation — if none of the designs feels right, you owe nothing.

  5. We print and ship

We start printing as soon as you order. Making it takes 2–5 business days, then it ships from the print partner nearest you.

Questions, answered

Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from your photos and details, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style, a photo or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What happens to my photos?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

How long does printing take?

Printing takes 2–5 business days once you order, then your print ships from the print partner nearest you.

What does palette-knife painting look like in a family portrait?

Instead of soft brushstrokes, the paint appears laid on in flat, angular slabs, as if spread with a knife. Up close you see distinct blocks of lilac, teal and blue; from a few steps back they come together into faces and clothes. The print itself is flat, but the texture reads clearly on canvas and on paper.

How do I choose between the four impasto family styles?

Look at color and stroke. Impressionist is warm and natural with soft brushwork. Prismatic Impasto uses straight palette-knife slabs in cool jewel tones. Rhythmic Impasto swirls in coral, teal and sage. Verdant Impasto is loose and outdoorsy in greens and sand. All four aim to keep faces readable, so pick the palette that suits your room.

Do the photos need to be taken together?

No — that is the point. Each person comes from their own photos and we compose them into one scene. Different years, places and lighting all work.

How many people can be in the portrait?

Up to the card limit on the form — enough for a large family including pets. The form shows how many people and pets fit in one portrait.

Can I include someone who has passed away?

Yes, from older photos — many families make one for exactly this reason. A clear view of the face is what matters, not the age of the photo.

Will the faces actually look like us?

The style sets the medium; the likeness comes from your photos. If someone is not quite right, add a clearer photo of them and try again — it's free, and nothing is printed until you order.

What occasions is a custom family portrait for?

The moments a family changes shape: a new baby, a wedding, an anniversary, grandparents far away — or simply finally getting everyone, dog included, into one frame.
