About Orphism Family Portrait

Orphism takes its name from an early twentieth-century movement that broke pictures into overlapping planes of pure color. Here, your family sits in front of a background of crisp geometric blocks in blue, teal, green and lilac, with warm and cool colors set side by side, while the figures keep a smooth, lightly textured look with natural skin tones.

It is made with AI from photos of each generation. The structure makes it one of the tidiest styles for a large group: the color planes frame each person and keep the composition balanced, even with six or more people. Pastel Modernism uses softer, rounded pastel blocks; the planes of Orphism are sharper and bolder. It suits a contemporary living room, an office or a bright open-plan space.

How it works

Pick the looks you want to see.

  2. Add your people

A card for each person or pet, with one to three clear photos of their face.

  3. See your portraits

They appear on this page within a couple of minutes; choose the size, paper or canvas, and frame.

  4. Only pay if you fall for one

No deposit, no obligation — if none of the designs feels right, you owe nothing.

  5. We print and ship

We start printing as soon as you order. Making it takes 2–5 business days, then it ships from the print partner nearest you.

Questions, answered

Do I pay anything before I see my piece?

No. Seeing your piece is free and needs no card. You only pay if you order a print.

How is my piece made?

With AI. Image models create new artwork from your photos and details, guided by styles our team designs and tests. No one reviews it before you do, so what you see on the page is what we print.

How long does it take?

Your first piece usually appears on this page in a minute or two, and the other print shapes and sizes follow a few minutes later. Add your email if you want them saved to an account.

What if it isn't quite right?

Change the style, a photo or the wording and try again — it's free. Nothing is printed until you order.

What happens to my photos?

We use them only to create your pieces. They stay private to you and are sent to Google's Gemini image service to generate the artwork. Photos you add but never submit are deleted after 7 days.

What sizes and formats can I order?

Your piece is prepared in the print shapes it suits, so you can pick what fits your wall. We offer a wide range of portrait, landscape and square formats from 6×6″ to 40×60″ — framed paper prints, canvas or framed canvas, or metal prints.

What is Orphism in art?

Orphism was an art movement from around 1912, associated with Robert and Sonia Delaunay, that built pictures from bright, overlapping planes of color. This style borrows that idea for the background, using geometric blocks of contrasting color, while rendering your family naturally, which aims to keep faces easy to recognize.

Is Orphism a good style for a big family?

Yes. The geometric background gives the composition a clear structure, so six, seven or eight people still look organized rather than crowded. Choose a larger print for a big group so every face has room, and add a few clear photos of each person, including grandparents from older pictures if needed.

Do the photos need to be taken together?

No — that is the point. Each person comes from their own photos and we compose them into one scene. Different years, places and lighting all work.

How many people can be in the portrait?

Up to the card limit on the form — enough for a large family including pets. The form shows how many people and pets fit in one portrait.

Can I include someone who has passed away?

Yes, from older photos — many families make one for exactly this reason. A clear view of the face is what matters, not the age of the photo.

Will the faces actually look like us?

The style sets the medium; the likeness comes from your photos. If someone is not quite right, add a clearer photo of them and try again — it's free, and nothing is printed until you order.

What occasions is a custom family portrait for?

The moments a family changes shape: a new baby, a wedding, an anniversary, grandparents far away — or simply finally getting everyone, dog included, into one frame.

How much does it cost?
